Who We Are...

In the beginning . . .

When Tom Glanville started the company in 2001, his goal was to build public awareness of a little known crisis that he had personally experienced known as "identity theft." He conducted speaking engagements at libraries, schools, and other public forms to anyone that would listen to him. By 2005, the company's focus shifted from individuals to include the growing needs of businesses to safeguard information.

Today Tom is not alone. Identity Theft Loss Prevention, LLC has grown to include a team of Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialists supported by a network of professionals. With passion and conviction we serve corporate clients across America.

Diverse backgrounds, one mission.

Identity Theft Loss Prevention consultants come from various backgrounds, rich in experience, each with unique areas of expertise. We collaborate to overcome challenges and go to extraordinary lengths to provide viable solutions for our clients.

Our mission is to help protect businesses and families in our communities against identity theft through education, risk management, and compassion.

Our Values . . .

  • We value our relationships.
  • We value truth and honesty.
  • We value professionalism.
  • We value the unique perspective of every individual.
  • We value the right of every person to safety, security, and overall well-being.

These values are a moral compass for all that we do. Furthermore, as representatives of IDentity Theft LOSS Prevention, LLC, we believe that we can be an asset in any situation. The situation may call for taking a leadership role, active collaboration, or quiet support. Our job is knowing the difference.

An operational approach to information security . . .

The vast majority of risk management consulting firms focus on technology related security measures. This includes architecture, design, audits, hardware, software, etc. Controversially, the risks of information security incidents go well beyond technology. Many cases of identity fraud and theft are low tech crimes where the thief simply "walks away" with the information. Other instances of loss involve human error on the part of careless or poorly trained employees.

The information Compliance and Awareness Program (iCAP), designed by Identity Theft Loss Prevention, LLC, takes an "operational approach" to information security. That is, we address the information handling practices of the "people" associated with a business. Spoken word, hard copy, and technology use are all taken into consideration. The program is based on a risk management process and is designed to aid Information Security Officers (ISO's) in their efforts to satisfy government requirements while maintaining flexibility in daily operations.

"You can invest thousands of dollars into technology architecture, design, and controls. Your offices may have nine foot thick walls, but if your employees leave the doors wide open, then what's the difference?"
